SpaceX Reclaims $135 IPO Price as Wall Street Accelerates Institutional Push

SpaceX shares climbed back above the $135 IPO price on September 1, according to BlockBeats, as fears of a post-lockup selloff failed to materialize. The concern had been that employees and early investors would dump stock once lockup restrictions expired, but the price moved higher instead. The initial rally was partly driven by a scarcity narrative, and that narrative is now shifting toward a question of sustained demand as more shares become tradable. The first major unlock released roughly 912 million shares, and roughly 3 billion additional shares could become eligible for trading by the end of the year. Wall Street, meanwhile, is moving to fold SpaceX into its institutional framework. Multiple banks issued price targets after the quiet period ended, with a median around $225 and a range of roughly $190 to $800. Goldman Sachs sits around $205, JPMorgan around $225 and Morgan Stanley around $300. Analyst coverage, valuation models, liquidity and potential index inclusion are all taking shape, turning SpaceX from a scarce asset into a regular security that institutions must weigh against Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon and Google. The current valuation already bakes in expectations for rapid growth in Starlink, Starship, AI infrastructure and orbital computing. As supply increases, the scarcity premium is expected to fade, leaving fundamental delivery and institutional absorption of new shares as the key test for further upside.

Unitree’s Wild IPO Trading Gives Way to Valuation Debate as 228.7 Million Shares Near Lockup Expiry

Unitree Technology has gone from one of the market’s hottest new listings to one of its most debated valuation stories. On its August 19 debut, the company’s stock surged more than sixfold at one point, pushing total market capitalization above RMB 440 billion. It then fell sharply in subsequent sessions, nearly halving from those levels and wiping out more than RMB 200 billion in market value. Trading data shows that first-day turnover reached RMB 23.2 billion, with 25.66 million shares changing hands and tradable float turnover hitting 85.28%, the highest first-day turnover rate for a STAR Market IPO in 2026. A key driver was the structure of the float: only 30.0877 million shares were tradable initially, and offline institutional investors held 20.3807 million of them. Roughly 90% of offline allotted shares were eligible to trade on day one, allowing low-cost IPO allocations to be cashed out quickly. Sell-side flow was dominated by large and mid-sized investors, while margin financing recorded net buying of RMB 1.56 billion. Looking ahead, Unitree faces another overhang: about 228.7 million shares, or 56.56% of total share capital, are set to be unlocked one year after listing, with reductions potentially starting on August 19, 2027. The stock’s valuation remains a major point of contention, with market views split over whether Unitree should be priced like a traditional hardware manufacturer or an AI and embodied intelligence platform company.
